Located in the center of the island of Fuerteventura, also covers the entire south of the island (Jandía peninsula). Includes populations: Ajuy, Cardón, Chilegua, Cofete, Costa Calma, La Lajita, The Wall, The Beautiful, Mézquez, Morro Jable, straw, Puertito de la Cruz and Toto.
The municipality has the largest beaches of the Canary Islands. Emphasize the Leeward Cofete and those of Morro Jable. In the town of Pájara you can visit the Church of Our Lady of Regla, originally built in 1687 and later enlarged.
Attractions apart from its magnificent beaches: Monument natural harbors Aju ocean sediments and fossils of marine animals already disappeared. The Natural Park in the Jandía peninsula of the same name, with abundant endemic species and protected species of flora and fauna. The Monument Mountain natural Cardón of scientific interest for its rich flora.
